arp 309 (ngc 942 & 943)

arp 309 is a member of the double galaxies class. the atlas note says
"peculiar absorption ring, possibly broken". i'm not able to see the
absorption structure in my image. the n galaxy is ngc 943 and the s one is
ngc 942. note the faint tail pointing n from ngc 943 and the stubby tail
to the s of ngc 942.
