Arp 279 (NGC 1253 & A)

Arp 279 is another member of the Interacting Double Galaxies class. The
primary is NGC 1253 and the companion to the E is NGC 1253A. Except for
the large number of star-forming regions in the arms, NGC 1253 has remained
fairly normal but 1253A is an extremely distorted galaxy.
This is one of my better Cookbook images, taken in 2003.
