arp 54

arp 54 is a member of the class spirals with small hsb companions on arms.  it's the largest galaxy in this field, about halfway up to the north edge.  it has a bright knot at the end of the west arm and a fairly large companion about 30' further southwest, halfway to the star.  the atlas note mentions "arm toward companion split, contains nodule".  there are a lot of tiny galaxies scattered throughout the field.
