Arp 337 (M82; NGC 3034)

Arp 337 is in the Unique class. The Atlas note is "internal explosion".
As a Messier object, it is one of the best known and most observed of the Arps.
The most striking aspect of this object is the multitude of filaments
perpendicular to the axis of the galaxy, generally radiating from the core.
They are only hinted at in this image, and are best seen in images taken with a
H alpha filter. There are many wonderful color images available which show
