Arp 324
![]() |
Arp 324 is a member of the Galaxy Chains class. The Atlas note says
"diffuse elongation of ellipticals along line joining them". This is a
long chain, consisting of seven galaxies. They are best identified using
their Vorontsov-Velyaminov designations. The largest member, at the N end,
is VV 159a. The small galaxy about 1' S is VV159e. Next comes VV
159b and then a very close pair of compact galaxies, just E of the star,
cataloged together as VV 159d. Another minute S is VV159c and finally, at
the S end, the edge-on perpendicular to the chain is VV 159f.
