Arp 305 is another member of the class Double Galaxies. The Atlas note says "segment breaking from arm of S gal., weak filaments reach to N gal., which has figure 8 loops". The segment/filament is visible in the images above but is very faint. The N galaxy is NGC 4016 and the S galaxy is NGC 4017. The small galaxy NE of NGC 4016 is listed in the MAPS-NGP and BTS catalogs.
