Arp 243 is another in the class Appearance of Fission. The Atlas note is
"some very small bright knots resolved in interior". Be sure to check the
Atlas image for this one, because it is much more complex than my image even
hints at.
There are a couple of striking asterisms in this
field. First, "The Fishhook" curving up from the bottom of the field,
about halfway from the center to the left edge, and second, "The Dagger", starting very near the
right edge about one-third of the way up from the bottom and continuing north
and east to end in a narrow point of six stars making up the blade. As far
as I know, these have been named nowhere else. And, given that it takes a
fairly long exposure with a CCD camera to see them, they aren't likely to be.
