Arp 230 is in the Concentric Rings class. The Atlas note is "inner and
outer shells visible in direction of axis only". That can barely be seen
in the overprocessed negative detail image, and then only the NNE segment. The Atlas
image shows it much better. My 21 minutes of integration just was not
enough The positive images, both standard and detail, were processed to
emphasize the ring. Arp 230 looks to me like a mini version of the Helix
(Arp 336) but with much less complexity. The modern classification for
this kind of galaxy appears to be either Polar Ring or Shell -- Polar Ring seems
to be more commonly used. There is a long list of references in NED.
