Arp 228 is a member of the Concentric Rings class. The Atlas note says
"defects in blue Survey print in both VV 53 and VV 54". Arp 228 consists
of the brightest galaxy, right in the center, which is IC 162 and the smaller
galaxy, MCG+2-5-39, just below and to the left. The other galaxies in the
field are not part of the Arp. A detail
image is included but it really doesn't show anything not seen in the
larger images. Click on the positive image to the left to see a
full size image of the field. There are many small galaxies, some
quite unusual themselves.
