Arp 223 (NGC 7585)
![]() |
Arp 223 is another
member of the class Amorphous Spiral Arms. There was no Atlas
note. Arp 223 is the largest galaxy in the field, in the NE
corner. The smaller galaxy near the center of the field is NGC
7576. There are a number of faint background galaxies, including four
MAC's. Megastar shows a quasar right on the southwest edge of the galaxy
but there are not enough "roadmap" stars for me to tell whether it is
visible or not. Click on the color
image to see a full size view and on the negative image to see a full
size negative. |
