Arp 215 (NGC 2782)
![]() |
Arp 215 is the first member of the class Adjacent Loops, and is the large galaxy
in the northwest portion of the field. The Atlas note is "diffuse outer
arms". It reminds me a bit of Arp 189 but in this case, instead of a jet
hitting a bubble, it looks like an arm or tidal tail is hitting a bubble.
The edge-on galaxy near the southeast corner is UGC 4872. Arp 215 is offset to the northwest because I wanted to fit this one in the field.
